High speed camera domes
Dome cameras are reasonably inconspicuous and are usually in-ceiling-mounted in places such as casinos, airports and retail shops. High speed camera domes can survey a whole room or area and quickly pan and zoom to any location. Entire dome camera systems may be controlled from a central point by a versatile keyboard controller like Samsung’s SCC-3100A. Hundreds of cameras can be remotely controlled and the controller is compatible with various different protocols.
Samsung offers a range of high speed camera domes, like the SPD-3300. This model is especially suited to low light conditions, due to its innovative ICR Day & Night technology, allowing clearer and brighter night-time images. It has a powerful auto focus 30x optical zoom lens for easy number plate recognition, even if a vehicle is a significant distance away. This camera is especially useful at traffic boom gates and tollgates.
Pelco also manufactures high speed camera domes. Their Spectra III series is range of versatile and powerful dome cameras that offer 16x optical zoom capability and an auto focus, high resolution optics package designed to work well in low ambient light. They offer password protection and built-in lightning protection. Some models may be mounted in-ceiling and others may be pendent-mounted to a wall. Notably, heavy duty stainless steel variants are available. The software is upgradeable and components may be bought separately, for when you want to upgrade certain parts of the system only.
High speed camera domes are valuable additions to any security surveillance system, offering a wide angle of view, 360-degree panning, tilting and zooming functions so that very little can escape them.
