Security Access Control
Security access control has become very important, considering South Africa’s high crime levels. More businesses and private residences install access control systems to strictly control who enters and leaves the premises.
A basic, four-channel receiver like the ImproX SupaGate 4-Channel Receiver is among the entry-level security access control products available, and is not expensive to buy. It is equipped with a four-channel RF transmitter and a passive transponder antenna reader. Compatible with eight different antenna reader types, it is perfect for controlling your residence or small business. It has a single reader connection and four relays, to it can be used to control the security gate, the garage door, the front door and a security floodlight.
Card or tag reader security access control systems are used at many businesses. Business owners can see what the movements and working hours of their employees are. More than that, the systems may be programmed to grant access to certain employees in certain parts of the building only, or at certain times only. These systems may be configured to allow for thousands of tags.
Peripherals such as special drop-boxes are designed to accept tags that are issued once and must be dropped into the box to be read and to grant the user access. The box’s aperture is designed so that a tag cannot be retrieved after it has been dropped into the box.
Security access control at security complexes are usually achieved by using a keypad-based access system. A code must be entered to open the gate, and a cellular phone module may be able to contact residents, who can open the gate remotely.
